About

We are proud and happy to share that Wetterling Gallery is returning to the place where it all began.

Wetterling Gallery was founded in Gothenburg in 1978 and was active in the city until 1986. Almost fifty years later, we are now proud to return to where it all began and open a second gallery at Kungsportsavenyn 29, right in the heart of Gothenburg.

This new chapter marks not only a return to our roots, but also a renewed commitment to the vibrant art scene of western Sweden. Behind the gallery is Björn Wetterling, one of the country's most influential gallerists, who has had a significant influence on the Swedish art scene. He introduced American pop artists to Sweden, including Frank Stella, Robert Rauschenberg and James Rosenquist. For decades, the gallery has worked with both international and Swedish artists and presented contemporary art of the highest quality.

We look forward to meeting both old friends and new visitors and to continue presenting ambitious contemporary art in one of Sweden's most dynamic cultural cities.

Welcome to celebrate the opening of Wetterling Gallery Gothenburg on Saturday, September 20th, 12:00–16:00.
