This summer, Wetterling Gallery presents Swedish Glass in collaboration with Kosta Boda, bringing together works by Lena Bergström, Ellen Ehk Åkesson, Åsa Jungnelius, Bertil Vallien, Hanna Hansdotter, Kakan Hermansson, Johan Röing, Kjell Engman, Marcus Åkesson, Simon Klenell, and Ulrica Hydman Vallien.
Spanning multiple generations, the exhibition reflects the continued significance of glass within Swedish contemporary art. Across sculpture and object-based works, the artists approach the medium through distinctly individual practices, where material, form, and image remain in constant negotiation.
For decades, Swedish glass has maintained a singular international position through its ability to continuously evolve while remaining closely tied to its own history. Swedish Glass brings these perspectives together in an exhibition that considers the medium as both historically grounded and continuously expanding.
