About

In Meet Me Here, the viewer meets Bea Marklunds large-scale works painted with acrylic and spray paint on canvas. Reduced in color and shape and driven towards the emptiness of the canvas, Marklunds work asks questions about control versus non-control. With direct and uncensored gestures, Marklund explores space, two- and three-dimensionality and the charge between them. Her visual language fluctuates freely between personal and art-historical references, but avoids being embodied. Instead, it is an exploratory process of line and movement.
