Biography

Clay Ketter’s work deals with labor and construction. Construction of the built environment we are surrounded by, and the inner reality that is mirrored in it. He is interested in our “homes” and the actual traces we leave behind us that tell about us and our history. There are no people in Clay Ketter’s work, but they are all about people. He shows us the norms we build and that we use to feel safe, e g in his computer manipulated city plans that result in perfectly symmetric layout of gated communities.

Clay Ketter was born in Brunswick, Maine, 1961. He lives and works in Uppåkra, Sweden.
