Liva Isakson Lundin is profiled in Di Weekend ahead of two simultaneous Stockholm exhibitions. She is currently showing an eight-metre suspended foam installation at Konstakademien (21 March – 2 May), exploring negative space and the contours left behind by form. Her solo exhibition with us opens 7 May, continuing the same investigation at a more intimate scale with cast gypsum formations.
The article also covers her largest commission to date: a roughly 400-metre-long public artwork along Avenyn in Gothenburg, with a total budget of SEK 5 million. Terrazzo lines set into the pavement will rise at five points into sculptural formations. Construction is expected to begin in 2030, with the full street opening in early 2033.
Isakson Lundin's public commissions include a permanent installation for Gothenburg City Theatre, a sculpture at Stortorget in Eslöv, and — with Adèle Essle Zeiss — the Avicii memorial in Humlegården, Stockholm (2022). Her work is held in the collection of Moderna museet.
