Tony Cragg: [WG.152] Solo Show
Forthcoming exhibition
Overview
Wetterling Gallery is delighted to invite you to the opening of Tony Cragg’s solo show.
For more than four decades, Cragg has redefined contemporary sculpture, transforming matter into organic, dynamic and almost living forms. Born in Liverpool in 1949, he has developed a distinctive artistic language that bridges science, nature and poetry. His work explores the relationship between materials, movement and the forces that shape the world around us. From his early sculptures made of found industrial objects to his later fluid and twisting forms, Cragg continually investigates the possibilities of matter. The exhibition brings together works created between 2016 and 2026, showcasing the remarkable breadth of his sculptural practice. Stainless steel, bronze, corten steel, bog oak and onyx reveal the diversity and richness of his materials. Through spiraling structures, delicate balances and powerful organic forms, the sculptures evoke growth, transformation and the passage of time.
